Week At A Glance, September 21st to 25th

Monday, September 21st, 2026: 

• Grade 6’s at Camp Sasamat for the day (Arrive to school @ 8:00 am, pick up at 3:45 pm at the school)
• OLS Fun Run (All students in Grades 2, 3, 4, 5 & 7 please wear your gym strip to school for a fun run with Our Lady of Sorrows at Calister Park, students will be bussed to and from the run)

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026:

• Grades 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 Cross Country Practice at Noon

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026:

• Mass Challenge #1 at 7:45 am
• Hot Lunch
• PEC Meeting 6:30 pm

Thursday, September 24th, 2026:

• Grades 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7  Cross Country Practice at Templeton at 7:45 am, Students will be walked back to school with the teacher

Friday, September 25th, 2026:

• Rosary (Grade 7)
• Early Dismissal 2:00 pm

Walkathon 2026

The top class for week 1 will be announced on Monday September 21st. Please continue collecting pledges and help us reach our goal of $29,000.00.

Donations: Families who would like to donate. Please drop off your donations to the school office. Candy prizes for the weekly class winner, Tim Horton’s Gift Cards to purchase donuts, Prizes for the Walkathon Raffle (i.e.: nerf footballs, small toys, sidewalk chalk, skipping ropes, Squishables) etc.

Mass Challenge:
This term we are encouraging all SFA families to remain rooted in their faith by attending 7:45 am Daily Mass.  SFA students are encouraged to attend 7:45 am Mass on the following dates this term:

• Wednesday, September 23, 2026
• Wednesday, October 14, 2026 and,
• Wednesday, November 25, 2026

Please note that students may be dropped off and an SFA staff member will walk back with them to the school after Mass is complete.  Those who attend all 3 “Mass Challenges” will get a treat!

Absences and Late Notes: 
Please email the office at office@sfaschool.ca if you child will be away from school, has an appointment or will be late or leaving early.

GRADE 7 PIZZA FUNDRAISING LUNCHES ARE BACK!

Please support our Grade 7 families as they raise money for special events and activities like Outdoor Education, Spirit Day and the Grade 7 Farewell Ceremony. Click on the link below to order pizza lunches from Pizza Hut for the first term.  Thank you for your support!  Please note that the deadline for ordering for the first pizza lunch on October 1, 2026 is September 23, 2026.

Oct 8th – Living Rosary 12:45 pm at the Church Hall (Grade 2)

Oct 9th – SFA Annual Walkathon, Noon Dismissal, ASC Noon to 3:00 pm

Oct 12th – Thanksgiving Day – NO SCHOOL

Oct 14th – Mass Challenge #2 at 7:45 am 

Oct 16th – School Mass at 9:15 am (Grade 6)

Oct 17th – Work Bee 8:30 am

Oct 22nd – Parent, Teacher, Student Conferences, No Regular Classes (Details to follow)

Oct 23rd – PRO D DAY – NO SCHOOL (No Day Camp)

Oct 27th – Individual Photos and Class Photos (All Students to be dressed in their winter uniform, including school sweater and black shoes)

Oct 29th – Pumpkin Day K’s to Grade 3, Halloween Costumes
