• National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Prayer Service (Grade 5), (Students may wear an orange shirt today with their uniform bottom, Please bring in $2.00 for the Residential School Survivors Fund)

Tuesday, September 29th, 2026:

• St. Mary’s Cross Country Meet at South Memorial Park

Wednesday, September 30th, 2026:

• NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH & RECONCILIATION – NO SCHOOL

Thursday, October 1st, 2026:

• Cross Country Practice 7:45 am at Templeton
• Winter Uniform Begins (No dress shorts and no skorts)
• Grade 7 Pizza Lunch Fundraiser

Friday, October 2nd, 2026:

• Feast Day School Mass 9:15 am (Grade 4) ($2.00 Mass Collection for our Foster Child, Miguel Angel Rojas Montano)
• Early Dismissal 2:00 pm

Walkathon 2026:

The grade One Class has raised the most money this week and have won the weekly class prize. The next weekly class prize will be drawn on Monday, September 26th.

To date we have raised $13,505.00. Please continue collecting pledges from family and friends. Every donation, no matter the size will help us reach our goal of $29,000.00.

SFA Parish Anniversary and Dance:

Once part of the SFA school community, always part of its story.

This year, St. Francis of Assisi Parish celebrates 90 years, and SFA School marks 80 years. We’re inviting school families, alumni, former staff and friends to come together for the parish’s 90th Anniversary Dinner on Saturday, October 3, at Villa Amato Ballroom.
It’s a chance to catch up with familiar faces, share some school memories and celebrate the community that has connected generations of families. Doors open at 6:00 pm, with dinner at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $90.

We are building a roster of parent photographers to assist with photography at school events. If you have savvy photography skills and are willing to help please email Heather hdmaciver@gmail.com.

Mass Challenge:
This term we are encouraging all SFA families to remain rooted in their faith by attending 7:45 am Daily Mass.  SFA students are encouraged to attend 7:45 am Mass on the following dates this term:

• Wednesday, October 14, 2026 and,
• Wednesday, November 25, 2026

Congratulations to those students who made it to Mass this past Wednesday!  Your efforts were greatly appreciated – a blessed way to start off the day!

School Uniform: 
Requirements of the school uniform:

• SHOES:  students are permitted to wear black shoes or all-black runners. Shoes must be entirely black, including soles, laces, and logos, with no visible markings or colours. 
• SOCKS:  Girls are permitted to wear navy blue knee high socks/tights in the Winter and Boys are permitted to wear navy blue socks; Boys and Girls are permitted to wear navy ankle-socks or navy knee high socks with the Summer Uniform; white socks only with the gym uniform
• PANTS:  pants are to be kept in good condition (no holes/frays)
• KILT/SKORT:  to be worn no higher than 2 inches above the knee
• MAKE-UP: Girls may wear only clear nail polish or lip balm. No other nail polish or make-up is permitted.

Rain and Colder Weather:
Please remember to send your child to school with a jacket everyday. If it is raining lightly students will be staying outside before the morning bell and during recess and lunch.
