Tuesday, May 5th, 2026:

• NO LONG DISTANCE TRACK PRACTICE TODAY

Wednesday, May 6th, 2026:

• High Jump Practice at 7:30 am at the Church Hall. Please drop your child off with Miss Pratley. Students will be walked back to the school.
• Holy Childhood Mass with Catholic Outreach Reps 10:30 am
• Hot Lunch
• Throwing Practice at lunch
• Chess Club 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm (Students in Grade 4-7 who signed up)

Thursday, May 7th, 2026:

• Vancouver Aquarium Fieldtrip (Grade 3)
• Track Practice 3:10 pm to 4:15 pm at Templeton Track. Please pick up your child from the school no later than 4:30 pm. Any students who have not been picked up by 4:30 pm will be sent to the After School Club and you will be charged for this service.

Friday, May 8th, 2026:

• Victoria Day Fieldtrip (Grade 5)
• School Mass 9:15 am, Mother’s Day & May Crowning (Grade 1)

Saturday, May 9th, 2026: Work Bee 8:30 am

First Holy Communion
The Grade Two students will be receiving their First Holy Communion on Saturday, May 2nd at 11:00 am. May this sacred milestone deepen their love for Christ and fill their hearts with grace, joy, and a lasting sense of His presence. Please keep them in your prayers.

Gym Update

St. Helen’s Track Meet
Students that are attending the track meet on Monday May 4th and riding the bus are to meet at the school at 8:10 am. Students being driven to Swangard are to arrive no later than 8:30 am. Please remember to bring hats, sunscreen and lots of water.

Summer Uniform Reminders
The summer uniform may be worn from April 27th to June 25th. Students may wear the winter uniform all year round. Please refer to the parent handbook, page 16. All items marked with an asterisk must be purchased from the approved school uniform supplier.

SFA Carnival
This year’s SFA Carnival will be held on May 31st. Please consider volunteering to help make this a fun event :

SFA Students and Human Growth and Development
At SFA our Primary grade teachers (Kindergarten, Grades 1, 2 and 3) will start teaching your children about abuse prevention and safety through the CISVA approved, “I’m a Gift from God” program beginning next week.  Students will learn that their bodies are gifts from God and how to ensure they are kept safe.  

In our Intermediate grades (Grades 4, 5, 6 and 7) teachers will begin teaching about puberty, developmental change, social media, peer pressure and chastity in early-mid May using CISVA approved resources.

If you have any questions about these programs please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s classroom teacher.  Thank you.

Candy Jar Fundraiser
Thank you to everyone that participated in our fundraiser this week for Miguel, our foster child. The winners were Jaya (Gr.6), Lilah (Gr.6) and Bernard (K). We raised a total of $368.00.

Did you know SFA has a preschool? Located at the Church, SFA Preschool offers a caring, faith-based 4-hour morning program that gives children a wonderful foundation before kindergarten. Limited spaces are still available for 2026/2027. Email preschool@sfaschool.ca or apply online.
