A New School Year Begins:

Welcome back SFA families! The 2026-2027 school year will begin in less than a week’s time and our SFA staff are busily preparing for the return of your children. This summer we replaced more of the old flooring in the school and progress was made on obtaining the permit for our gym. Side panelling has been put in and in a few weeks time flooring will be installed.

If you are able, please join us on Tuesday, September 8 (Grades 1-7; Kindergarten students start the following day) at 8:40 am on the playground area for a welcome and blessing from Father Lucca. Students will line up behind their class marker on the playground between the school and the gym.

You are also encouraged to join us our SFA BBQ on September 11, 2026.

Morning Drop Off:
Reminder – Morning Drop Off: a friendly reminder that students are not to be dropped off before 8:15 am as supervision does not officially begin until 8:15 am. Students who are dropped off before 8:15 am will be charged an automatic Before School Club fee. Thank you for understanding and cooperation.

SFA Fundraising 2026-2027:
Yesterday, an email was sent with a detailed overview of our fundraising initiatives for the year. Please click HERE to view the document.

We are seeking enthusiastic families to help accomplish these initiatives. Please contact our Parent Participation Coordinator at parentparticipation@sfaschool.ca if you are willing and able to help out or have questions about where you can best serve!

Hot Lunch Program:
SFA’s hot lunch program is run by Fuel Catering. Please see attached the details on setting up an account an ordering. All hot lunches are ordering directly through the Munch A Lunch site. Please note: When a student is away on the hot lunch day the lunch will be kept in the fridge for the following day. Please click to order. Hot Lunch Program.

SFA 2026 Walkathon:
Date: October 9, 2026

Where: Walk to and From Trout Lake

Looking for: Families who would like to donate. Please drop off your donations to the school office. Candy prizes for the weekly class winner, Tim Horton’s Gift Cards to purchase donuts, Prizes for the Walkathon Raffle (i.e.: nerf footballs, small toys, sidewalk chalk, skipping ropes, Squishables) etc.

Consignment Sale:
Got growing kids? Come shop our selection of gently used clothes on September 11th from 4:30 to 5:30 PM at the SFA BBQ!

Quick Rules of Engagement: Cash only! Firm stop at 5:30 PM – make sure to get there early! Buying only: We won’t be taking new consignment items at the BBQ, but stop by to grab a drop-off form for a future date.
