Catholic Schools’ Week:

We are Celebrating “Catholic Schools Week” from February 9th to the 13th. The Grade 1 and Grade 5 Family Mass is on February 9th at 10:30 am. Please join us. There will be light refreshments served after the Mass.

Throughout the week students will be participating in activities reflecting on why we are proud to be part of a Catholic school.  Each day of this week we will gather together as a school community to prayer, sing songs and learn about saints.

Morning Mass: Our next invitation for all SFA students and parents to attend 8:00 am Morning Mass will be on Thursday, February 6, 2025!

Annual General Meeting: “Reminder” our Annual General Meeting is on February 20, 2025 at 6:45 pm at the church hall – at least one parent must attend. Re-registration packages will be given out this night.

Family Dance: With just over a week away, the countdown is on to Dance through the Decades at our SFA Family Dance! If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, please do so as you’ll need them to attend and we won’t be selling them the day of, or at the venue.  Reminder, you can also pre-purchase concession stand and pizza slice tickets to avoid line-ups. Tickets for these items will also be available for purchase at the dance. Grade 7 Pizza Lunch: The Grade 7s are holding another pizza fundraising lunch on Thursday, February 20, 2025.  The deadline to order for your child will be on February 11 2025.  Click PIZZA LUNCH ORDERING LINK to link to the ordering page.  Thank you for your support!

School Closures Due to Weather: Please note: For any school closures, an email will be sent out to all families by 6:30 am. If the school remains open there will not be any communication sent. Please remember it is always the parents’ decision if you want to keep your child home it you feel it is unsafe to travel.

Cold Weather: Please make sure your child has a jackets/gloves/hat with them everyday. Students will be outside in the morning and during recess time.

Red and Green Day: Thank you to everyone that brought in a toonie on our Red and Green Day. As a school community we raised $465.00 for our foster child Miguel.

2025 – 2026 School Application: We are still accepting kindergarten applications for the 2025 – 2026 school year. Please forward the attached application package to any family and friends.

Enrolment Mass & Morning Mass:

The Grade 2 and Grade 7 students preparing to receive their First Holy Communion and Confirmation attended a wonderful Mass this past Sunday.  Let us continue to keep these students and their families in our prayers as they journey closer to receiving these important sacraments.

And a big, “Thank you” to all those students and parents who attended the 8:00 am Morning Mass on January 23, 2025.  It was wonderful to have the SFA school present and start off the day with the special blessing of attending the holy sacrifice of the Mass.  Our next invitation for all SFA students to attend 8:00 am Morning Mass will be on February 6, 2025!

SFA Carnival:

The Carnival team has received feedback that there is interest to bring back the Talent Show at the Carnival. We are looking for a Talent Show Coordinator to make this happen. If you are able to fill the role, please contact Crystal at sfa.carnival@sfaschool.ca by Jan. 31.

SFA Preschool Open House:  

SFA Preschool Open House is January 27, 2025. Meet our preschool teachers and tour the classroom from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Our preschool is open to 3 and 4-year old who are ready to explore learning. It is a play-based, licensed facility offering lots of opportunities to learn and grow.
